🔴 The Principles Of A Fulfilling Life
Do you like how you spend the majority of your time?
If you don’t, today’s edition serves as a reminder that it’s possible, and you should try as hard as you can to make it happen.
If you already like how you spend your time, today’s edition will reinforce the reason you started on your journey in the first place.
My friend, you’re here on Earth for a limited amount of time. From my understanding, we don’t get to live another life after this.
We get this one opportunity.
I’ve spent time with myself thinking and journaling about this for long enough to understand how I want to spend my time here on Earth…
Learning
Creating
Sharing
No matter what opportunities are presented, the only thing I need to ask myself is… Does it enable me to learn, create, and share?
Does that resonate with you?
Does your version look slightly different? Majorly different?
If those three points above don’t fully connect with you, consider spending thirty minutes doing the 🔴 THREE Method. It’s a journaling exercise I used when I felt lost in life and needed clarity on how to spend my time and energy. That journal led to the creation of The Bleeding Edge newsletter.
If you resonate with all three, let’s double-click into each one as we explore my personal experience in hopes it resonates and connects with you.
Learning
I simply love to learn how things work. I always have.
When I let my mind wander, I think about seemingly random things like…
What protocols do subway conductors use to ensure trains don’t run into each other in busy New York subways?
How the hell did life on Earth evolve from single-cell organisms to such a diverse range of insects, fish, mammals, and everything in between?
How does the plug in my wall know exactly how much electricity to send through to not fry the electronic?
At my best, I’m curious about the inner workings behind everyday life that most people don’t think about.
And because I do something that most people don’t, learning is one of my unfair advantages. It’s my edge against the competition.
I remember getting in trouble in 5th-grade math class because I was reading the TIME For Kids Almanac instead of paying attention to the teacher.
I simply wanted to learn any facts about anything. That’s just how my brain works.
What does your brain crave that can be turned into a positive reward loop for yourself?
Do you like socializing with people? Maybe go to meetups around your interests. Maybe host or join dinner parties. Maybe start a club of some sort.
Creating
Creating is beautiful.
Creating is turning one of your thoughts into a reality.
Think about it. Something didn’t exist then you thought of it, and then made it, and then it exists.
If you know what you like to make, do that, and don’t stop until you find something you like doing better.
If you don’t know what you like to make, try something new.
TODAY, try something you’ve never done before. Try something completely out of the blue. Try using spray paint. Or making a tufted rug. Or try writing code. Or try writing a blog.
Just try.
Who is your idol?
Think about it for a second.
Got it?
Your idol created the thing you idolize them for.
They made it because they had the thought to create something.
That could be you.
You have the opportunity right now to inspire and attract people into your life because you created the thing you want to create.
Isn’t that kind of the point of being here on Earth?
Sharing
Sharing, to me, is one of the most rewarding parts.
In the process of learning and creating, you hone your skillset.
You are honing your gift.
As Pablo Picasso said, The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.
Sharing your gift with the world becomes part of your legacy.
Humans, all the way back to the moment the first cave painting was etched into stone, longed for a way to share their experience with the world.
What good is your gift if you haven’t shared it with those around you?
Sharing in the modern day means posting it online for anyone who cares to discover.
Share so that others discover your work and get to know you.
Share so that you help them learn and create for themselves.
Share so that your work can be seen by future friends and future generations.
Share to solidify your legacy as a human who lived on Earth.
The Rest Will Be History…
If you resonate with the above and can stay consistent, you’ll have lived a wonderful and fulfilling life. By the end of it, you may have inspired a handful of people in the next generation. Maybe even more than a handful.
If you don’t resonate with the learn, create, and share principles, you will need to find different principles that come more naturally to you.
Imagine being able to boil down the purpose of your life to three clear bullet points. Journaling played a big part in me knowing my three bullet points. I don’t have an exact formula for how to get there, but journaling consistently is a great start.
I recommend writing down in detail your successes, failures, and struggles, then think through what you did to feel the most fulfilled in your life so far. The journal is only for you. Nobody else needs to see it. The entire purpose is to explore your mind to uncover the themes you didn’t even know were there.
Bonus:
I know a lot of people spend most of their energy working just to get by, which means you don’t have much energy after work to pursue something greater. If that’s you, read 🔴 Here’s The Thing About Investing… That will help shed light on investing and the importance of getting out of that situation so you can focus on greater things.
That’s what I’ve got for you this week. Let me know in the comments if today’s edition resonates with you.
Paid newsletter folks will get a VIDEO EDITION of The Bleeding Edge Plus in their inbox by the end of day on Tuesday, May 7th.

Thank you for reading.
